![]() Thank you very much for taking the time to write all this, if i spec my tank for dps. They also don't have the best starting deflection, so it's hard to get that to high levels. If you are unable to pass the check for the falling log then even if you save the man the woman will be dead by the time you turn towards her. The Wounds mechanic suggests they should be, but unless you use a shield you won't get your deflection high enough to significantly reduce damage or justify an investment in Resolve. If you look to help the woman first you cannot save the man, even if you send someone in with the proper cold spell. So you might want to consider speccing your tanks for DPS until the end of Act 1 and then making use of the respec feature to switch to something more defensive. Fighters also work well if you want a more offense oriented tank since they have that ability that reduces the recovery penalty from armor and they start with a 30 deflection.īe aware that none of the tanking builds work well out of the gate, until you get some decent armor and the first or second tier enchantments, you just can't get to that point where the enemy attacks can't crit you anymore (unless you're a Wizard) and your DR is soaking up a reasonable amount of what is left. Take a look at the tanking Paladin builds. ![]() They also have more tanking oriented abilities. Sure they don't have the best starting deflection, but they have Faith and Conviction which really helps defenses as they start getting bonuses to their favored dispositions. To that end I find Paladins are the best tanking class.
